To honor any single person as the writer of the Constitution would be unfair and unjust. It was not any single individual’s work, but a team of very patriotic founders who wanted a central government. The Constitution was a product of collaboration of many wise men in the country. These men were formerly involved in creating a framework of the Constitution, and are also referred to as the Framers.

The actual document is less than six thousand words, and cannot be called very detailed. It was more of a broad outline of the system that was adopted to embrace the changing time and circumstances. Twelve out of the original thirteen states sent representatives or delegates to the Constitutional Convention in order to help in revision and rewriting the Articles of Confederation, or the first Constitution.

The final draft of the Constitution was made by the entire Convention, who worked on the document. The committee had endless discussions, deliberations and queries before they reached a common content. After the common and unanimous consent, the Committee of Style drafted the document which was consented by majority of the delegates.

The document was penned or physically written by a man named Jacob Shallus. It is widely believed that Shallus penned the original document, though there was no evidence to prove this.
