Well, if churches do not pay taxes, then they should not have access to public conveniences and help. For instance, how can a church call a fire department for help in case of fire when they do not pay taxes to fund the department?
The fact is, churches possess a lot of authentic properties, and those properties are not being assessed for tax purposes that are required to maintain government services. In view of the fact that the churches do not pay property taxes, the burden of county and local government services is passed on to the other existent property owners.
To this end, tax exemption for churches is wrong, and it stamps out a large source of revenue. It is outrageous that churches, many of which occupy prime real estate in expensive parts of the city, do not have to pay property tax. Given statistics state that most churches spend 85 percent of the funds they receive on internal operations, and only 3 percent of the money goes towards aiding and ministering towards the unsaved and the community.
If that is the case, the money a church spends on fancy cars for its preacher(s) should be taxed. As well, a church that operates a soup kitchen, but requires its beneficiaries to pray for their supper should have to pay tax on the fraction of its income used to run that soup kitchen.
